Bye Bye Bridgestone

We found out this week that the Bridgestone lay-offs are going to affect us. Nathan is being let go on May 1st. Although I am a little nervous about what God has in store for us, I am just so very thankful that this is coming now and not before when I was still in school and Nathan was our sole source of income. He will receive a small severance package and we will be able to keep our insurance for 6 months, so we are planning on him going to school full time this summer until he can apply for a local police department and I will just pick up extra shifts at the hospital. I am very blessed to have a job that I love in a career that is always in demand! Okay, enough about that, now I have some annoying mom bragginess to share. The first bit of wonderful news is that Sophia has slept through the night the last three nights! Hallelujah!!! We went for her 6 month check up and she weighed 15 lbs 5 oz. She is getting her 4th tooth and can sit up by herself. She still isn't crawing, but she is scooting all over the place. Emma can tell you her name when you ask her, but when you ask her how old she is, she says "two". I don't know where she learned that she is two, but she refuses to say that she is one. I am amazed at how much Isabelle is learning at school. She brings home readers every couple of nights that she has to read and return to school and the last one she read was at a third grade level!!! My cup runneth over... Sophia enjoying a biter biscuit, she still won't eat baby food though...

Nathan found Emma like this, she pushed her chair over to the barstool and climbed up to finish off Isabelle's spaghetti and milk. When he walked in the kitchen, she said " Hi Daddy" like she was supposed to be sitting up there!

Man Chair

Poor Nathan resides in a home brimming with estrogen. With three daughters who enjoy talking as much (and as loudly) as I do, Macey the dog, and Hollywood the cat, he is completely outnumbered! So, we ladies decided that he deserves a place of his very own since we have taken over every other inch of our house, garage, shed, etc. In other words, we feel that he deserves a Man Chair. The Man Chair arrived last week and true to form Nathan has turned into his dad, my grandpa, and every other old man who has a recliner. He reclines, watches TV, falls asleep with his mouth open, wakes up abruptly, tries to pretend he didn't fall asleep, and repeats the cycle again!

The Plague...

Last week was a rough week for the Frost family, we had a plague in our house! Really it was a terrible stomach bug that we all passed around, but thankfully everyone is better now and the house has been cleaned and disinfected. This week's news is that Isabelle is starting dance classes again on Friday after a brief hiatus and a go at gymnastics (which she was way to chicken to do!). Sophia is on the verge of crawling~ she has been scooting around and getting up on all fours for a week or so now, but you can just tell she is ready to take off. Emma is still her wild self. She was sad on Monday when Isabelle went back to school and kept calling up the stairs for her "Sissy". She loves "Soapie", but Isabelle is her #1.

Roller Girls

I am not sure if you know this, but my roller skating skills are quite impressive. In fact, I spent my teenage years working as a roller skating carhop at Sonic. I follow in the footsteps of my even more impressively skilled skating mother who spent her teenage years working at a roller skating rink (which is where she met and fell in love with my dad when he tried to refuse exchanging his shoes for the rental skates). So, needless to say I was thrilled with Santa brought Isabelle some Hannah Montana roller skates. We tried them out yesterday at the skating rink and had a blast. Emma even got in on the action with her tiny buster brown rental skates.

Happy New Year!!!!

I started off the New Year by finally organizing the playroom! Those of you who know me are probably laughing at the idea of me and organized in the same sentence, but the proof is in the pictures!!! The other developments so far this year are that Sophie got another new tooth and is finally beginning to eat some baby food and Emma got some hand-me down cowgirl boots that have been "broken in" by Isabelle, Mayson, and Isaac. She loves them so much that she puts them on first thing in the morning and cries when we take them off for naptime and bedtime!

The most wonderful time of the year!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year! We had Christmas Eve dinner at our home with Nathan's family. We had just found out that Alisha will be having another little girl in May. So with the addition of baby Rosa (that is what big sister Kailee wants to name her) Grammy will have five grandaughters, she is in heaven! My family came in later Christmas Eve night and we checked Santa tracker, put out milk and cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer, read the nativity story and hit the sack. Christmas morning we opened presents, ate pancakes, and went to church before we left for Indiana to visit my grandparents. It was perfect, I am amazed everyday at how truly blessed we are as a family. We are happy, healthy and in love with each other and our beautiful girls. Who could ask for more?!?
Painting some Christmas decorations for the party
She is a pro at the fake smile :)
Grammy, Pop, and their gals
Don't the little girls look like they are planning some trouble!
What!?! Nathan actually smiling in a picture!
Santa's milk and cookies. The letter said "I am really trying to be good so can I please have a pair of roller skates?"

She is a mad woman on this! Isabelle skates around the house and Emma chases her and runs over her when she falls (which is often!)

Her "cupcake" lotion and perfume

The Frost girls' new playhouse. Isabelle loved this outfit and said she thought she looked just like her Nanna in her jeans, boots, and sweatshirt!
